Valentines

I truly enjoy making little love notes for my friends and family.  I used the *Don't Get It Twisted* January Kit from The Pink Ninja Addicts to make these lovelies.....

PNA Valentines Stack

They remind me of the little valentines I used to receive in grade school.....around the same size, with a special little message, and lots of color!  I am so blessed to have friends I love these days.  I can't wait to hand them out!

*Heart Mobile* Project

I would like to introduce you to the second Pink Ninja Addicts kit for the month of January.  It's called *Don't Get It Twisted*.....

As soon as I saw all the yummy product in this kit, the wheels in my mind started turning, and knew that I wanted to make this:

PNA Heart Mobile

PNA Heart Mobile Collage

I have seen lots of awesome fabric mobiles for sale on Etsy, and thought a paper one with hearts would be perfect for Valentines!  It is currently hanging in my kitchen, and giving me lots of love!

To assemble it, I first cut out the paper hearts with scissors.  Then, I used different size circle punches with papers, and lined everything up in the order I wanted to sew it all together.  A short hunting trip to my backyard for a twig came before I attached the sewn pieces to the twig with excess thread I had hanging from their tops.  To finish it off, I added the red heart, and also the strip of red polka-dot fabric which I turned into a bow.  Another easy and fun project.

If anyone is interested in having a custom paper mobile made, please email me at:  carrieelias@yahoo.com

Have fun creating!!!

*Earth Love* Layout

This is one of my favorite layouts right now....the two photos I used are from an amazing afternoon hiking.....Washington is SO beautiful, and my sister is SO precious!!!

PNA Earth Love Layout

PNA Earth Love Layout Collage

I used the Pink Ninja Addicts *Three Little Birds* kit for this project. Have I mentioned that I love this kit!?!?! One of my favorite things about this this particular layout is the paper garland hanging from the top. To make it all I did was punch out different size circles in various papers, and run them through my sewing machine.....easy peasy. I attached both ends of the garland to the layout with pop-up foam squares, and then added some mushrooms on top of a few of the circles, as well as a lovely ivory flower. There is some white paint splatter, and some black and orange ink splatter, a little more sewing, and I absolutely ADORE the Cosmo Cricket woodgrain chipboard that came in the kit!!! I think everything else is pretty self explanatory :)

I also have some truly exciting news!!! My sister Sarah is engaged to be married!!! I am thrilled for her.....she is SO happy!!!

Hurricane Ridge Sarah S

So, we all know what this means, right?!?!?.....I will be spending the next few months dreaming about wedding plans, and help her as much as I can!!!..... well as much as I can help from California with her being in Washington.....but I get to make the invitations for sure! Love is in the air! I can feel it.....

I snapped this photo of her on our way back down the mountain from a brief adventure to Hurricane Ridge. It was very cold, hence the cowl. Will share more photos of the amazing view there soon.....actually, probably in a layout ;-)

Have a beautiful day!!!

Homeade paper bows!

Here is another projects with the Pink Ninja Addicts kit *Three Little Birds*

PNA Ribbon Box

I folded some of the papers from the kit into a tiny origami box, and then decided that there were too many other cute papers that matched.....so, I created a paper bow from the tutorial HERE, and attached it to the strip of deer paper that is folded around the box. Now, the whole strip of paper with the bow, can slide off the box, so you can get inside. I LOVE this idea!!!

Also, HERE is a link to a tutorial I found on folding the origami boxes. I altered mine to be a little different, and will probably post it as a tutorial with photos sometime in the future....just for fun :)

"Rosy Cheeks" Layout & Marymere Falls

I love this photo of my little sister! She tried on Dr. Cullens Jacket during our Forks visit last summer, and her cheeks turned so pink!

PNA Rosy Cheeks Layout

PNA Rosy Cheeks Layout Collage

It has been a sheer delight making projects with the Pink Ninjas Addicts scrapbook kits! This is a layout using the *Three Little Birds* January Kit. To create it, I first decided to make the fabric frame.....I sewed the pink floral strip into a tube, stuffed it with poly-fil, sewed the two ends of the stuffed tube together to make a circle, and covered where the two ends meet with a pink lace bow. Once I had the frame assembled, I came across the photo, and decided it was exactly what I wanted to use. From there, I cut strips of the heart paper, and wove them together, attaching them to the background paper with red thread and my sewing machine. Then I decided what embellishments to add, and for the final touch, I used my small heart punch, and popped up hearts in some of the negative space left on the layout. I tried to give this layout the feel of excitement, sweetness, and color of the moment I captured in the photo. With such great memories, I love how scrapbooking helps me remember.....

Here is a photo of me and some of my family on New Years Day. We decided to take a short hike up to Marymere Falls. It was pouring down rain, and we all got soaked, but it was soooo beautiful and fun!!!

Now, for truly exciting news!!! Pink Ninja Masters Ally & Nely are now designing scrapbook kits for sale with the birth of The Pink Ninja Addicts!!! They even have the amazing Elsie as the guest designer for their *Three Little Birds* January Kit! Their blog has some amazing scrapbook layouts and projects.....

Here is a peak at the *Three Little Birds Kit*

You can buy it HERE, while supplies last. I made this wallet with some of the lovely product:

PNA Buterfly Wallet Collage

I took a 6x12 piece of scrapbook paper, folded the bottom 2 inches up to make the inside pocket, layered all the paper strips, and ribbons, sewed it all together, and then folded the final 4x12 project into three 4 inch pieces. Easy and fun! More projects / layouts soon :)
